South Floridians love great food and culture, and there’s a specific kind of magic that happens when you combine them. In the Palm Beaches, we don’t just have spectacular museums and galleries; we also have outstanding restaurants. Whether you’re a local looking to break out of a weekend rut or a visitor mapping out the ultimate itinerary, planning a full day around art and dining is one of the best ways to explore Palm Beach County. Here are five destinations across the Palm Beaches where you can pair a cultural experience with an equally incredible meal.
Boca Raton
Start your day in the heart of Downtown Boca Raton at Mizner Park, which features a distinct pink Mediterranean Revival architecture. Anchoring downtown Boca Raton is the Boca Raton Museum of Art, an all-ages creative hub. Step inside to explore bright, spacious galleries showcasing everything from changing contemporary exhibitions to modern photography and classical sculptures. Once you’ve soaked in the artistry, you don’t even need to look for your car keys. Boca Raton’s downtown district is exceptionally walkable.
Also located in Mizner Park, just a few steps from the museum, is Kapow Noodle Bar. The Asian fusion restaurant serves dishes like Mongolian short-rib tacos and Korean fried chicken sandwiches in an artsy, eclectic setting. If you’re exploring with young kids, pop into Cielito Artisan Pops. The Colombian, family-owned ice cream shop has a rotating menu of handmade popsicles featuring refreshing flavors like ginger mint lemonade and key lime pie. And for an afternoon or evening wind-down, take a 20-minute stroll to Le Sorelle. This beloved local gem serves authentic, wood-fired artisan pizzas and lobster ravioli in a cozy, welcoming setting.
Delray Beach
Located just north of Boca Raton, Delray Beach is home to color-splashed murals and year-round community art events. Spend the morning strolling through the Pineapple Arts District, which is full of galleries and public arts installations, before heading to the Cornell Art Museum. The museum is housed in a historic, restored 1913 schoolhouse on Old School Square, and inside, you’ll find rotating displays by artists. Be sure to stop by the Cornell Art Museum Store for handcrafted jewelry and crafts. If you’re here on a Wednesday, the museum also has live music from 3:30-5 p.m.
Delray is a treasure trove for local bites, and you don’t have to go far to find great restaurants. A ten-minute stroll from the museum is a daytime classic, The Hampton Social, a high-energy eatery that serves classic seafood dishes like lobster rolls and fish and chips. Just steps from the museum, DADA is an eclectic garden restaurant where people-watching rivals the comfort food. Open at 4 p.m. on weekdays, the restaurant serves dishes like vegan butternut squash ravioli and jumbo lump crab cakes that are a hit with locals. If you want to grab drinks with friends, Delray Beach is the perfect place for that, too. The buzzy Good Night John Boy and THRōW Social Delray Beach are great for a 21+ hang.

Downtown Lake Worth Beach
Lake Worth Beach is another destination that has a deeply community-centric art scene. Every year in late February, the streets are turned into literal art as the Lake Worth Beach Street Painting Festival invites hundreds of artists to paint the streets with chalk. Outside of this annual event, Lake Worth Beach is home to the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. Housed inside the iconic, beautifully restored Art Deco Robert M. Montgomery Building on Lake Avenue, it’s a definitive launchpad for local art. Step inside to explore bright, spacious galleries exclusively dedicated to showcasing visual artists, sculptors, and performers who live and work right here in the county. The best part is that admission is free.
When hunger hits, walk just a block over to Pelican Restaurant. Open for breakfast and lunch, this neighborhood cafe serves dishes like shrimp and grits, birra tacos, and stacked BLTs in a cozy setting. For a grown-up wind-down, Off The Clock Listening Bar & Restaurant is a music-focused venue that blends curated vinyl records and low-lit ambiance with small bites and craft cocktails. And if beachside dining is more your thing, head to the legendary Benny’s on the Beach, just a five-minute car ride away. Enjoy key lime calamari and Palm Beach shrimp tacos while the sun sets over the water.

West Palm Beach
From Lake Worth, if you head slightly north into West Palm Beach, you’ll find a neighborhood home to one of Florida’s largest museums. The Norton Museum of Art is a highlight of the Palm Beaches’ art landscape. Boasting a permanent collection of over 8,200 works spanning American, European, Chinese, and Contemporary Art and Photography, the museum is a place where you can easily spend hours wandering its galleries. Don’t miss a peaceful stroll through the Pamela and Robert B. Goergen Garden to admire monumental sculptures nestled among lush, tropical flora.

From the Norton Museum, head across the street to Hive Bakery & Cafe, the ultimate spot for a stylish, post-museum lunch. The menu features artisanal grain bowls, sandwiches, and exceptional house-made pastries. Another great option is Buccan Sandwich Shop, a takeout-only spot that serves hot and cold artisanal sandwiches. Some crowd pleasers include the steak bomb, Maine lobster roll, and the Cubano 2.0. If your museum trip runs into the evening, make a reservation at Table 26, a top-rated fine-dining spot with lamb curry and parmesan-crusted branzino on the menu.
Palm Beach
Palm Beach has a glamorous reputation, but it’s also a hub for arts and culture. From West Palm Beach, cross the Intracoastal Waterway to the island of Palm Beach for a day focused on outdoor art and legendary dining. Founded in 1936, the Society of the Four Arts hosts concerts, lectures, and art exhibitions inside its historic buildings. The true local secret is spending a quiet morning wandering the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden and the adjacent Four Arts Botanical Gardens, which feature hidden paths, fountains, and striking modern sculptures.
After immersing yourself in the serene gardens, take a leisurely walk or bike ride to the iconic Mediterranean-style vias that stretch off Worth Avenue. Duck into Via Mizner to find Pizza Al Fresco, where you can enjoy slices of wood-fired, thin-crust pizza at an outdoor table. Have a craving for sweets? Stop by Piccolo Gelato for authentic Italian gelato in flavors like limoncello and passionfruit. If you’re looking for a more formal, romantic conclusion to your island art day, book a table at Cafe Boulud at the Brazilian Court Hotel, a legendary upscale establishment serving classic French fare.
