The Art of Le Chat and the Le Chat of an Art

A poetic verse to “L’Artiste.” a.k.a. Le Chat

by George Bayer

In lands where tongues do twist and twirl,

There roams Le Chat, not boy nor girl,

No age to claim, no gender’s hue,

A worldly pilgrim, ageless and true.

A feline of art, the art in feline,

In realms unseen, it paints the scene,

With strokes of whimsy, it weaves the tale,

Of a free Le Chat, who sets its sail.

From Parisian cafes to Tokyo’s glow,

It treads where dreams and passions flow,

No fear, no chains, just pure delight,

In the realm of day and the plane of night.

Through ancient streets and modern gleams,

This enigma of fur, in starry dreams,

Dances with shadows, whispers with breeze,

A nomadic heart that never finds ease.

In Marrakech’s markets, it weaves,

through the crowd, On Venice’s canals,

it meanders so proud,

From the Himalayas to Africa’s plains,

It roams like art with no earthly chains.

For this is Le Chat that knows no end,

Its journey’s art, its art’s close friend,

In every culture, in every zone,

It leaves its mark, the world its own.

Not defined by gender, age, or creed,

But by the wanderlust in every deed,

A symbol of freedom, pure and wild,

The art of Le Chat, forever beguiled.
