Katherine Hofmann Debuts First Solo Exhibition: Seams Between Land and Sky at the Cultural Council
Large-scale, experimental works explore memory, landscape, and material process
March 19, 2026 (Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) – The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is pleased to announce its upcoming solo exhibition, Seams Between Land and Sky, featuring works by West Palm Beach-based artist Katherine Hofmann.
Hofmann’s work emerges from a process of burying, excavating, and tangling and detangling – unearthing memories through painting. Her large-scale works on paper, created with experimental watercolor, natural pigments, and handmade collage, trace water’s flow and stillness while weaving personal encounters into layered landscapes tied to place and time.
“I align myself between the permeable boundaries of the cerebral and tangible by mimicking the Earth’s art-making,” shared Hofmann.
“Katherine’s large scale works quite literally immerse the viewer in lush Florida landscapes laden with flora and fauna. Her intricate layering of hand-painted watercolors collaged within the larger imagery encourages close engagement with each image,” said Jessica Ransom, Director of Artist Services at the Cultural Council.
Hofmann graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design in 2023 and was awarded a residency at Salem Art Works as a ceramicist. She is currently a teaching artist at the Norton Museum of Art, and her work has been featured throughout Miami in several exhibitions and in several private collections. Seams Between Land and Sky will be her first solo exhibition.
The exhibition will be on view in the Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery from Friday, March 27 to Saturday, May 9, 2026. The exhibition is free and open to the public at the Cultural Council’s headquarters located in downtown Lake Worth Beach (Location & Public Hours).
The opening reception of Seams Between Land and Sky takes place on Thursday, March 26 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. (RSVP)
