14 Artists, 6 Poets Share their Well Being through Creative Expression

Lake Worth Beach, Fla. – Art has long been recognized as a powerful form of care – for the body, mind, and spirit. Now, emerging research shows that viewing art in galleries can significantly reduce stress and lower cortisol levels. Taking note, the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is proud to present Being Well, Well Being, a new exhibition featuring 14 local artists whose work reflects healing, resilience, and joy through creative expression. Additionally, six Palm Beach County-based poets will have their poetry on display.
Being Well, Well Being offers the public a chance to experience how art can heal, connect, and uplift, proving that creativity itself is a vital form of care. “Art and wellness are deeply connected,” said Jessica Ransom, Director of Artist Services at the Cultural Council. “This exhibition invites people to experience how creativity can restore calm, spark hope, and help us feel whole.”
Through poetry, painting, and mixed media, Being Well, Well Being will explore what it means to feel whole in a fractured world and how creative practice itself can be an act of well-being.
The opening reception for Being Well, Well Being takes place on Thursday, February 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cultural Council’s headquarters located in downtown Lake Worth Beach. Live music will be provided by sound therapy practitioner and musician Dakota Dawkins. The reception is open to the Cultural Council’s members and their guests. Although the reception is free, members are asked to RSVP here. The exhibition will run in the Main Gallery at the Cultural Council through April 4 (Public Hours).
