Although the temperatures start getting warm during springtime here in Florida’s Cultural Capital, we offer an incredible variety of places to relax, chill, and enjoy tranquility in indoor and outdoor spaces. So whether you’re looking for a garden escape or a relaxing walk on an outdoor trail, all can be found right here in The Palm Beaches. Check out some of my favorite “chill” spots below!

Armory Art Center, West Palm Beach

For some, relaxation comes in the form of using your hands for creation and art. One of the best places for sculpting, painting, and drawing is the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach. You can participate in art classes, view artist exhibitions, and join special guest lectures throughout the year.

As an art lover, I find painting on a canvas or drawing whatever comes to mind incredibly therapeutic. The art center is excellent for both adults and children, offering multiple art classes for all ages. Be sure to check out the events calendar!

Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail, Pahokee

Suppose you’re looking for nature and scenery, head over to the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail in Pahokee on the western side of The Palm Beaches.

The walking and biking trails wrap around Lake Okeechobee and offer walkers and riders incredible views of the nation’s second-largest lake. Visitors can also enjoy horseback riding around the lake on certain parts of the trail. For someone like me who loves nature walks, this is one of the best places to enjoy fresh Florida air, stunning views of this landmark, and you might be able to catch a glimpse of some of Florida’s native wildlife, including birds and fish.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Delray Beach

One of The Palm Beaches’ most excellent and relaxing joys is a stroll through Morikami Museums and Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach. At Morikami, guests can expect a tranquil experience of Japanese art, exotic plants and flowers, and a serene and relaxing environment. You have to experience the Roji-en, the Japanese translation of “Garden of the Drops of Dew.”

You can enjoy six different gardens, including the Paradise Garden (or Buddhist heaven), the perfect place for a calm stroll. In addition to the gardens, the museum boasts Japanese art and a tea house where guests can observe a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The venue also offers annual memberships so you can enjoy this peaceful oasis all year long.

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, West Palm Beach

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is a must-visit in West Palm Beach for a tranquil location where art and relaxation collide. Notably one of my favorite locations for a stroll through gardens with over 200 species of palms and flowers, sculptures, and art.

The heavily palm-shaded pathway through the outdoor area is the perfect place to relax and fully immerse yourself in a tropical oasis amid The Palm Beaches.

There are many places to relax and unwind in The Palm Beaches while immersing yourself in the region’s rich culture. With incredible indoor and outdoor options to choose from, relaxation and tranquility are just around the corner. So, where are you headed to “chill” first? See you soon!
