Multiple Visions
Featuring the Arts Warehouse Resident Artists

Multiple Visions gathers 12 resident artists from Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach for an exhibition at the Boca Raton Innovation Center (BRIC). The exhibition invites viewers to explore the artists’ distinct viewpoints and disciplines, as they are united in their desire to share their stories, dreams, imagination, and passions through their chosen artistic medium varying from clay, mixed media, textiles, photography, and paint.

The competitive Resident Artist Program at Arts Warehouse is made up of 15 private artist studios, supporting artists as small businesses. One of the joys of working on their individual artistic visions at Arts Warehouse is the access to the public through studio visits, First Fridays, and special programs.  The studios offer the resident artists the opportunity to interact daily and develop their individual expression through their practice while working, learning, and sharing with one another as a collective.

On the heels of a successful Resident Artist exhibition at Arts Warehouse in late 2023, Multiple Visions celebrates each artist’s unique practice, extending their reach beyond their studio spaces, into the vibrant South Florida arts community. The high quality of work exhibited is a testament to the caliber of artists at Arts Warehouse. The exhibition at the BRIC is an opportunity for a larger audience to experience this unique group of artists in a new setting and encourage further conversation in each artists’ personal studio spaces, back at Arts Warehouse. “We welcome expanding community participation at Arts Warehouse through studio visits, viewing our changing exhibitions, workshops, and personal art consulting. We have lots of experience helping people find that perfect work of art to enhance their home and their life.” says Bonnie Levinson, Resident artist, and curator of the exhibition at the BRIC.

“Being a part of Arts Warehouse has been a transformative experience. It has given me a space to collaborate and grow amongst a diverse group of artists where we are fostering a creative community that I’m grateful for.” says Sarah E. Huang, Resident Artist in her third year at Arts Warehouse.

“I’m excited to show alongside incredible artists that I get to watch create every day. Being in Arts Warehouse has been so wonderful! I have met so many friends that I have been able to collaborate and grow with, and it’s important to share about the unique environment that is Arts Warehouse studios” shared Resident Artist, Amanda Perna.

The exhibition will open with a reception on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 6-8pm. Throughout the six month run of the exhibition there will be in-person public programming inspired by the exhibition at the BRIC. Programs may include guest presentations on such topics as the role of experimentation and collaboration in making art, the power of creativity in transforming our lives, the role of an arts residency in the development of the artist’s art practice. Virtual programming such as artist talk videos will be released on Arts Warehouse’s social media platforms. Exact dates of in-person programs will be announced. Please feel free to contact the curator of the Multiple Visions exhibition, resident artist, Bonnie Levinson  bonnielevinson@gmail.com or @bonnielevinsonarts for more information.

Sweet Tone recording artist and internal touring act Memphis Lightning is a force to be reckoned with. Built up from world class and award winning artists, featuring one of today’s greatest guitar slingers Lightning Thiboutot, compared to the likes of Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, and Chuck Berry to name a few, Memphis Lighting brings their own brand of ol’ school Rock & Roll and down and dirty Blues. With the soul and fire making Thiboutot a firecracker not to be messed with, rather enjoyed from his ‘shock and awe’ presence. Along with his father, the Grammy nominated Big Red, who has spent years building his credibility through touring and recording all over the world. When you think of future legends, two words will come to mind, Memphis Lightning! Memphis Lightning is the real deal, and ready to make you feel the blues the way you should.

At it’s core, and one of the first of its kind in South Florida, this multi-media exhibition seeks to celebrate the ingenuity of former, current, and future cultural workers. If you are engaged with a cultural institution (in a paid or volunteer capacity), we would love to see your art!
The 2024 Exhibition will be juried by Jessica Ransom, Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, Elayna Toby Singer, Palm Beach County Art in Public Places, and Yimarie Rivera, Independent Community Organizer, formerly Norton Museum of Art.
Monetary prizes will be awarded for 1st ($300), 2nd ($200), and 3rd ($100) best in show.
The 2024 theme is inspired by Arthur O’Shaugnessy’s Ode.
We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
