In-Situ Opening Reception

In Situ is a Latin phrase meaning “in the original location.” In scientific experimentation, it refers to experiments conducted in the actual site of the phenomenon under study. In this art exhibition we consider artists to be researchers–and the artwork to be results of experiments connected to a specific site. The sites in question? The Native Jungles in the Atlantic Rainforest and the lush albeit man-made landscapes of South Florida. Opposite ends of the equator, and seemingly contrasting in every other way, yet the Köppen climate classification confirms Northern Argentina and South FL are “twin” Subtropical Humid climate zones( Cfa). This exhibition yields a nuanced visual conservation of flora, fauna, sensations, spirit as each artist studies the sense of place in their respective locations.

The Curator: Angela Bulich is an Artist Curator from Delray Beach, FL. With a formal education in biological sciences, she frames the exhibition with a nod to her short-history in research. This exhibition is concurrent with the release of her newest fine jewelry collection– inspired by her recent artist residency in the jungles of Argentina. She invites members from her local art community and fellow Argentine Artists to exhibit alongside each other in celebration of shared experiences and shared inspiration.
