Over the month of October, visit the Cursed Images: Pictures Out of Context exhibition at the Norton Museum of Art. These photos will leave you questioning their eerie, unexplainable nature. This exhibition pulls from the Peter J. Cohen Collection, one of the country’s largest archives of anonymous photography, to showcase 20th-century snapshots with a mysterious feel.

Family Night: Mystery at the Museum at Boca Raton Museum of Art in Boca Raton

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is hosting a night where families can team up to solve mysteries inspired by famous artists. Between riddle-solving, there’s trick-or-treating in the sculpture garden, a strolling magic show, live music from young local performers, and story time to wind the evening down. The free event will be held on October 8 from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Playful Pumpkins Workshop at Resource Depot in West Palm Beach

Drop in on October 10 between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to decorate a reusable pumpkin, taking inspiration from Yayoi Kusama’s signature polka dot patterns. Registration is $25 and required to participate.

Spookyville at Yesteryear Village in West Palm Beach

Enjoy a trick-or-treating adventure with the nostalgic backdrop of Yesteryear Village. Spookyville offers multiple days full of candy, costume parades, live entertainment, and more. Visit on October 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, or 31, and get your tickets today.

Haunting History with the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum in West Palm Beach

For the sixth year running, the Historical Society of Palm Beach County brings local pioneers back to life through the spooky tales of murder and mayhem at Woodlawn Cemetery. Don’t forget your flashlight for this historic walk through. Tickets are $40. The event is at 7 p.m. on October 22 & 23.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein by Ballet Palm Beach at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach

Trick-or-treat along the nature trails and meet some of the sanctuary’s wild animal residents. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting Feathers, Fangs, Fur, & FUN on October 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free to attend.

Shakes Fear presented by Delray Beach Historical Society and Heritage Gardens in Delray Beach

Unpack the ghosts, goblins, and spirits of William Shakespeare’s plays as the Sol Shakespeare Company of South Florida gives a chilling presentation on October 27. Space is limited, so be sure to make your $15 reservation. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the performance at 6:30 p.m.
