| Since its founding in 1978, the Palm Beach County Cultural Council has actively promoted cultural development in Palm Beach County and South Florida by providing services to artists and cultural organizations. Among these services are: (1) grants made through annual competitive process to organizations, (2) grants made through annual competitive process to individual artists and (3) awards for achievement made to artists by nomination. | ![]() |

The Cultural Council’s four primary grant programs assist both individual artists and organizations of all sizes. Its Artist-in-Residency grants – funded with revenues from local sales of the Florida State of the Arts license plate – support individual artists working on collaborative projects with county cultural organizations. Its Cultural Tourism Development Fund grant program – funded with bed tax revenues – supports major cultural organizations in their tourism development efforts. The Community Cultural Development Fund grants – funded by the County Commission – provide resources for the development and ongoing programs of small and mid-sized cultural organizations. The Council also supports local artists through the South Florida Cultural Consortium’s Visual and Media Artists Fellowship Program. |
