At its core, arts & culture open our minds to new ways of thinking, and ultimately, new ways of doing – a fresh color palette to help us paint a new tomorrow. We believe that arts & culture are the lifeblood of thriving communities and we work hard to bring them to every corner of our county. At the Cultural Council, we are a business mentor, a marketing partner, a matchmaker, an advisor, a cultural expert and a financial benefactor. We are a team of cultural architects growing and inspiring community by making arts & culture a part of everyday life, for everybody.
We give local artists a voice and a venue.
How can I connect with the Cultural Council as an artist?
The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s mission is to champion, engage, and grow the arts in Palm Beach County—and that starts with supporting the innovative professionals who make it happen.
As part of that mission, the Council offers a variety of services and programs to Palm Beach County’s many creative professionals (no matter the medium), at no cost, and with no membership required. We manage funds and grants dedicated to keep artists working; we offer exhibition, professional development, and retail opportunities at our headquarters; and we offer the service of our dedicated Artist Resource Team (ART).
How can we help you create here in Palm Beach County?
Artist Directory
As part of our mission, we provide a listing on our online directory to all Palm Beach County creative professionals—across all disciplines—at no cost.
The directory offers artists an opportunity to create a snapshot of themselves and their work with a bio, photos, and links to their website and social media platforms. It is also a valuable resource for cultural organizations, businesses, advisors, government bodies, and collectors to search and source new projects, exhibitions, performances, and more.
To find out how to create or update your artist directory listing, email us at art@palmbeachculture.com.
News for Artists
There’s always work to be done, and the Cultural Council is dedicated to provide Palm Beach County’s creative professionals with local, state, and national opportunities to showcase their work.
Don’t miss an opportunity! We regularly post calls-for-artists, auditions, notices, and other artist-related news to palmbeachculture.com/artist-news. And you can sign up for our Artist News email to get highlights sent to your inbox every month.
Roe Green Uniquely Palm Beach Store
The Roe Green Uniquely Palm Beach Store, located in the Cultural Council’s lobby, features items made locally by artists who live and work in Palm Beach County.
The store offers creative professionals the opportunity to sell your work to Council members, guests, and those who frequent the popular downtown Lake Worth Beach district. Products within the store are placed on consignment, with proceeds split between the artist and the Council to support all of our artist service programs.

Exhibitions

Main Gallery Exhibitions
The largest space at the Council, the Main Gallery, typically hosts three exhibitions per year (Fall through Spring). These exhibitions are curated by the Council, or by qualified collaborators, and include multiple artists across varied mediums representing the exhibition’s theme, or as conceived by the juror or curator.
Artists are sourced from the Council’s online directory and/or through a public call-for-artists posted on palmbeachculture.com/artist-news. There is no fee to exhibit and membership to the Council is not required.

Solo Gallery Exhibitions
The purpose of the Solo Gallery is to provide Palm Beach County-based emerging, mid-career, or professional visual artists with an opportunity for a solo exhibition (typically a full series of their work or a sampling of work representative of their career evolution).
Exhibitions are chosen annually through a non-paid, competitive selection process vetted by a committee of visual arts professionals. Sign up for our emails to be notified when the next application period opens.
Funding Opportunities
The Council currently administers two privately-funded grant programs for artists:
Artist Innovation Fellowship: A program that celebrates innovation and the creative process for Palm Beach County professional artists, funded by generous donors and foundations. To learn more about the current Artist Innovation Fellows and gain insight on the fellowship process, visit palmbeachculture.com/aifp.
Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists: An annual fund to help stabilize and strengthen the careers of female artists sixty (60) years of age or older who reside and work in Palm Beach County, who have recognizable artistic merit and who are deserving of financial assistance (whether professional, personal or both) to enable them to further their artistic development and achievement.
Additionally, the Council facilitates the Palm Beach County portion of the annual South Florida Cultural Consortium, which offers the largest regional, government-sponsored artists’ grants in the United States, awarding $15,000 and $7,500 grants to resident visual and media artists from Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach counties.
Since established in 1988, the Consortium has awarded over $4 million in grants to over 300 artists. In addition to receiving the grant, the artists take part in an exhibition hosted and organized by a visual arts institution in one of the five counties. Palm Beach County recipients also have their work displayed in the Cultural Council’s gallery.
