Development Officer

Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Job Summary
The Development Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors for the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. The Development Officer—a member of the Leadership Team—works with the CEO and Director of Membership and Corporate Relations to create and implement yearly strategic development plans focused on enhancing and expanding donor relationships, corporate solicitations, and major gift procurement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain fast-paced schedule of face-to-face visits to steward current donors and to engage new major donor prospects.
  • Conduct prospect cultivation, directly and in cooperation with executive leadership team, other staff, and board members. Manage a prospect pipeline.
  • Manage stewardship strategy and activity and report on progress monthly.
  • Write individualized cultivation, solicitation and stewardship letters, proposals, and reports.
  • Manage a deadline calendar to track funding application opportunities. Write and submit foundation and government grants.
  • Oversee planned giving efforts, including opportunities to grow endowment.
  • Coordinate major donor cultivation events including exclusive cocktail parties, small dinners, and other cultivation activities.
  • Manage major donor communications.
  • Support and help lead the board Development Committee to leverage board member engagement in fundraising activities.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for corporate solicitations.
  • Manage the Annual Fund.
  • Oversee gift acknowledgement and donor recognition.

Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and interested in supporting the mission, vision, and brand of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. The successful candidate will have drive and ambition, excellent analytical and oral communication skills, extensive technology knowledge and expertise including Raisers Edge, and be someone who thrives in an especially creative and fun environment.
 
The ideal candidates will possess:
  • At least 5 years of successful fundraising and direct-solicitation experience.
  • Proven track record of fundraising success.
  • Ties to and contacts with the cultural community.
  • Interest and ability to engage in significant travel throughout the county to attend meetings, solicitations, events, performances, and other donor-related functions both during daytime hours as well as evenings when required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Artist Services Intern

Position Type: Part-time, 16 hours per week
Start Date: October 1, 2022 (6-9 months)

Director of Artist Services

Job Summary
The Artist Services Intern is a part-time, hourly position. The Intern assists in the administrative management of exhibitions in our galleries. Specifically, the Intern assists in the creation and maintenance of department files and archives. The position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work with Palm Beach County’s vibrant cultural sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

Programming & Process

  • Assists the Director of Artist Services in creating, sending, and managing all documentation for exhibition in our galleries
  • Participates in the installation and deinstallation of Main Gallery exhibitions
  • Assists creative professionals in completing Artist Directory listings
  • Speaks knowledgeably to visitors about artists in all gallery exhibitions

Learning Goal
The primary goal of this Internship is to provide hands-on experience and a foundation in standard curatorial practices. This internship should serve as the equivalent of an introductory museum studies course and give the intern a solid appreciation of the time and tasks behind the scenes of bringing exhibits from conception to completion.
