As part of the Cultural Council’s “Shades of Culture” advertising campaign, visitors to the West Palm Beach Waterfront are in for a huge selfie treat. The Council commissioned local artist Frank Navarrete (Green Sky Productions) to create an experiential activation, where residents and visitors can interact with the signature aqua sunglasses – at a larger-than-life level. The over-sized sunnies—coming in at 8 ft. x 20 ft.—will be on display on the Great Lawn throughout Summer in Paradise. In addition to a cool spot to snap a shot, the lenses display static images of Ballet Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Zoo.

Be sure to stop by and snap a selfie with the shades and post on social media using #palmbeachculture.

The Council plans to move the installation throughout the County to different venues and events throughout the year, while also rotating the organizations featured insides the lenses.

Nonprofit cultural organizations can be part of Summer in Paradise (S.I.P.) too! The City of West Palm Beach is offering the opportunity to have a booth at various S.I.P events through July 26 to nonprofit organizations at no charge.
