Attendees will ‘Blast off with a good book’ by exploring different books and ways travel by air. Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty will be read and then families will design and launch their own stomp rockets. After the initial launch, families with have the opportunity to improve their original design by adding recycled materials.

Come join us as we dance to the rhythmic vibration of the drum. This session will include both an Umfundalai (African) dance class and a rhythmic drumming class. All ages are welcome.

**Women: are asked to bring a lapa –a piece of fabric that can be worn around the waist.
**Men: shakatoes or loosely fitted pants are welcomed.

Lake Worth Rocks is a group dedicated to fun rock painting for the entire community.

Join Maryann Arnita Payne and MAP Dance for a creative and friendly family experience. In this two-part workshop participants will be introduced to the basic principles of dance and painting through explorations in shape, space and rhythm. Part 1 of the workshop will include a short performance by Ms. Payne with the opportunity to move and dance with her to a variety of music. Part 2 will incorporate movement and music with gestures and watercolor painting. No previous experience in dance or art is required. All ages are welcome.

He’s back! Join one of Lake Worth’s most in-demand arts educators, Jose Mendez (a.k.a. R.Dot), and create an original Mexican sugar skull. Sugar skulls, known in Spanish as ‘calaverita,’ is traditionally made of sugar or clay and placed on the altars of a deceased loved one for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) or given to children as treats.

Participants will use spray paint with a variety of techniques to create an original sugar skull on canvas. *Supplies are limited; advance registration is required.

Graffiti, the art of writing or drawing on walls in public view, has existed since ancient times. Palm Beach County has recently experienced a surge in public art through an incredible collection of murals that can be viewed throughout our communities. In this workshop participants will use handmade stencils, sharpies and spray paint to create original graffiti art on canvas. Families will learn various spray painting techniques with a variety of colors so each piece is unique and one of a kind.

Enjoy live mural painting, street painting with chalk and a special arts and literacy session with world renowned artist and children’s book illustrator Edel Rodriguez.

Edel Rodriguez is a Cuban-American artist, illustrator and children’s book author. He was the art director at Time Magazine for 14 years and in the course of his career as a commercial illustrator, his work has been published by a great number of nationally- and internationally-distributed magazines such as The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, Newsweek and Fortune Magazine among others. In 2016 Edel was named “Top 50 Most Creative People of the Year” by Ad Age among Kerry James Marshall, David Bowie, Samantha Bee and Beyonce.
