The Cultural Council invites families to discover the arts together as they connect and create memories while acquiring new skills through visual art, dance and theater. Family Saturdays is a free program presented by various arts and cultural organizations in Palm Beach County. Each monthly event is hosted at the Councilās headquarters in downtown Lake Worth Beach and runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Family Saturdays: Fiber Art
February 6, 2021
Kianga Jinaki, a fiber artist, will curate an experience for the entire family to enjoy. With mixed-media assemblages using traditional and contemporary African textiles, the artwork created by each participant will be thematic and based on the African and African-American cultural and historical experience(s).
This event is for all ages to enjoy, and will be held in the Council’s Project Space, directly behind the building on L Street. We recommend bringing a towel or mat for your family to sit on. *For the safety of all participants, facial coverings and social distancing will be required for the entirety of the event.

Family Saturdays: Make A Splash Family Art

Come join us and artNEST Delray for family art with paint. Participants will use the outdoor splash wall for the unleashing of creativity and fun.

Family Saturdays: Huichol Art (Family Bead and Yarn Art)

Come join us for a family art workshop inspired by Huichol yarn and bead art. The artwork of the Huichol tribe is known around the globe for its vibrant color and intricate detail.

Palm Beach Opera brings families together through the magic of Opera: Stories Told Through Singing. Through this interactive sing-a-long storytelling experience, families will learn and sing memorable opera tunes. Storytime is followed by an art activity for all to experience and enjoy.

Family Saturdays: Kid's Corner, Sea Turtle Fun

Sea turtles are important animals in our ecosystem and it is important to keep them safe and healthy. Join Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) staff as we guide children through the process of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing an injured sea turtlesājust like we do at the Sea Turtle Hospital at LMC!
This program is for all ages and will include art making.
