Palm Beach County Offers Interactive Animal Experiences, Luscious Gardens, and more

 

With summer flying by, those looking for a getaway that’s about more than just a beach can find it through the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. The Cultural Council has curated special summer getaway opportunities for travelers including:

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Delray Beach, FL

Sushi & Stroll Summer Walks (August 10 and September 14): Since its opening in 1977, the Morikami has become known as one of the premier locations celebrating Japanese culture. During these “sushi & stroll summer walks,” travelers will have the rare opportunity to explore the six gardens while enjoying Pan-Asian cuisine from Cornell Café, along with premium Japanese sake & beer. There will also be performances by South Florida’s original taiko drumming group “Fushu Daiko.”

Elizabeth Ave Station, West Palm Beach, FL

Summer Opera Nights (July 27, August 24, September 28): Families are encouraged to check out the Elizabeth Ave Station in West Palm Beach’s new Warehouse District for exclusive summer opera nights, produced and presented by Palm Beach Opera. These riveting performances also come with the opportunity to shop at the district’s unique retail market, which features some of the region’s finest crafts and jewelry. There’s also food trucks, local vendors, and lawn games.

Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society, West Palm Beach, FL

Summer Safari Savings (Offered until September 30): For only one payment of $22.95, animal lovers can enjoy unlimited daytime visits to the zoo all summer long. Home to more than 500 animals from around the world, guests can also participate in interactive experiences with koalas, sloths, anteaters, and flamingos as they learn about their behaviors, tendencies, and roles in the food chain.

Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach, FL

One Garden, 23 Selections: Spreading 14 acres wide, the Mount Botanical Gardens features 23 displays that includes a butterfly garden, a garden of tranquility, and a garden tailored for edible produce. Each selection tells a specific story and has its own designated climate control to ensure efficiency and appropriate conditions.

Palm Beach Dolphin Tours, Jupiter and West Palm Beach, FL

Explore The Coastline (Offered until August 31): Both West Palm Beach and Jupiter offer thrilling 3-hour long dolphin excursions for a chance to witness wild dolphins, sea birds, sea turtles, sharks, and shellfish. Led by certified naturalists, travelers can see these creatures in their natural habitat and even hear oceanic sounds captured by an onboard hydrophone. Morning, mid-day, and sunset tours are offered throughout the summer and benefit the nonprofit Taras Oceanographic Foundation.
