The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County explores the third dimension in “Sculpture Selections from the Studio” with work by Palm Beach County artists Alexander Krivosheiw, G.E. Olsen and Jeff Whyman from March 6 through May 2, 2015. The preview party is on Thursday, March 5.

“We are always looking to showcase creativity and range of style and skill in our exhibitions, and consider ourselves fortunate to have so many truly inspired artists to choose from in The Palm Beaches,” says Cultural Council manager of artist services, Nichole M. Hickey. “These talented sculptors are working in a variety of of organic materials including bronze, aluminum, marble and steel.”

Krivosheiw, based in West Palm Beach, hand-forges bronze into the female form, and constructs Surrealistic sculptures in aluminum. He is currently working on a trophy for the International Olympic Committee to be presented to leaders and dignitaries of countries participating in the 2016 games. Olsen, who lives in Jupiter, is best known for bears sculpted from marble but also carves abstract and figurative forms in stone quarried in both the U.S. and Europe. Whyman, from Delray Beach, conveys humane sentiments through his steel sculptures, as well as large spontaneous work. All three artists have exhibited extensively and may be found in numerous public and private collections.

“These three artists have strong careers that are on the rise,” says Cultural Council President and CEO, Rena Blades. “Prices of their work are still, in many cases, below market value so this is an idea time to consider collecting major sculpture.”
