The summer exhibition will give patrons a chance to vote for their favorite

The Cultural Council will open its latest exhibition, “Biennial 2019” on Friday, May 31 at its historic headquarters in downtown Lake Worth Beach. The exhibition, which has occurred every other summer, will feature a diverse set of works by 33 professional Palm Beach County artists.

This year’s exhibition was juried by Melanie Johanson, curator of contemporary art at the Old School Square Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Second Place and Third Place at the member preview reception on May 30. Additionally, one artist will win the People’s Choice award—an opportunity for the public to vote for their favorite piece once a day from Friday, May 31 to Saturday, July 27 at the Council’s headquarters (601 Lake Ave., Lake Worth Beach). The winner will be announced the following week.

“We are ready to celebrate the start of summer with this engaging exhibition. We’ll ask the community to participate by voting for their favorites,” said Dave Lawrence, president & CEO. “The artists and artworks selected for this exhibition showcase the incredible talent we have here in Palm Beach County. Congratulations to the artists!”
