The Cultural Council will soon open its latest exhibition, “Modern Love”, on Friday, February 15 at its historic headquarters in downtown Lake Worth.
Love is a universal language—whether it’s between two people, the world around us, or even self-love—this complex emotion spans cultures and defines who we are. “Modern Love” features all facets of love, as a concept, represented in many ways: color, sensation, awareness, empathy, nature, technology, dance and beyond. The exhibition is co-curated by artist, educator and designer Kristin Miller Hopkins.
“Modern Love” will feature the following 20 Palm Beach County artists:
Bob Birkenes
Amy Broderick
Yury Darashkevich
Rod Faulds
Glenda Green
Sarah Knouse
Jill Lavetsky
Henriett Michel
Debbie Mostel
Louise Noakes
Scherer Ouporov
Lisa Rockford
Mark Walnock
Jeff Whyman
Brenda Zappitell
Flora Zolin
“In this day and age, love is an ever-growing necessity in any community,” said Dave Lawrence, the Council’s president & CEO. “Whether you love the arts, the environment, food or that special someone, the concept of love unites us. Here at the Council, we’re excited to foster conversations and ideas around this universal topic.”
Proceeds from artwork sales during the exhibition run directly benefit local artists and support the Council’s mission to grow arts and culture in Palm Beach County.
