To usher in the 2105-2016 season, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County will exhibit an unprecedented five shows simultaneously displaying the work of Palm Beach County artists beginning November 13.

“These exhibitions reflect the abundance and diversity of art that is being produced in Palm Beach County,” said Nichole M. Hickey, manager of artist services at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. “Visitors to the Cultural Council galleries will be enlightened by interpretations of natural beauty, see photographs celebrating dance, and enter the worlds of ancient cultural art forms.”

The Main Gallery will feature two exhibitions about nature. The exhibition “Nature Preserved” features artworks utilizing organic objects, synthetic materials and digital media capturing the wonders of this beautiful earth in several mediums including photography, sculpture, plein air painting, site-specific installations, video and watercolor. In addition, the Main Gallery will feature Environmental Resource Management Photographic Selections in a show titled “Palm Beach County Natural Areas.”

The North Gallery will exhibit “Passions Collide: The Photography of Neil Cohen,” a collection of dance photography. Solo exhibitions in the Lawrence A. Sanders Foundation Artist Resource Center will include Mimie Langlois, whose paintings are created with a single brush stroke of white paint on a rich black background emoting a Zen-like state that reflects her understanding of Eastern culture, and Jean Goddeau, who employs the ancient Javanese art form of batik to create her nature-inspired, meditative works using rice paper, watercolors and paraffin.

All five exhibitions are free and open to the public beginning November 13. Admission to the preview party on Thursday, November 12th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. is free for Cultural Council members and $20 for non-members. The event will feature trunk shows with Marie Wingate and Nora Solomon and a special performance by Visionaries of Dance, Inc. in partnership with World of Dance Magazine.
