Lake Worth, August 18 – The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County has issued its eagerly anticipated Call for Nominations for the 2016 Muse Awards honoring individual and organizational excellence in art and culture throughout Palm Beach County.

Once every two years, Palm Beach County artists and cultural institutions get the opportunity to be recognized with a coveted Muse Award. Palm Beach County residents and the creative community are welcome to submit nominees for consideration as Muse Awards recipients. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 30. Muse Awards recipients will be chosen through a competitive nomination process by which each nomination will be reviewed and scored by judges who are artists, community leaders, past recipients and Cultural Council board members.

Rena Blades, president and CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, said, “The Muse Awards program is an extension of the Cultural Council’s mission to nurture, support and promote the arts in Palm Beach County, Florida’s Cultural CapitalĀ®. The awards bring regional and national attention to the important accomplishments of the arts community and the outstanding artistic projects carried out in The Palm Beaches.”

Muse Awards categories include Outstanding Civic Leader, Outstanding Cultural Leader, Outstanding Small or Mid-Sized Arts & Cultural Organization, Outstanding Major Arts & Cultural Organization, Arts or Cultural Program of the Year, the Hector Ubertalli Award for Visual Artists and the Liman Excellence in Arts Education Award. The Cultural Council will honor the award recipients at the 2016 Muse Awards on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Additional details on the event will follow.
