Summertime chamber music in the Palm Beaches? Of course! Catch the tail end of the “Music at St. Paul’s” 30th anniversary season, as violinist Gareth Johnson and pianist Tao Lin perform in the sanctuary of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church this Sunday afternoon. Johnson has appeared as a soloist with several American orchestras, including the Boston Pops and those of Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, and Dubuque. He holds a Masters degree from the Lynn Conservatory of Music, where his principal teacher was none other than the great American violinist, Elmar Oliveira. Pianist Lin is an artist faculty member at the Bowdoin International Music Festival and a visiting professor at Shanghai Normal University School of Music.

Johnson’s pre-concert talk begins at 2:30 p.m.–and yes, he will address his choice of an electric violin for the Barkley piece. (Tip–arrive early for the best seats.)
