Crooner Steve Leeds, a long-time regular at New York’s swankiest clubs, including the Rainbow Room, the Waldorf and the Plaza, specializes in The Great American Songbook repertoire. His singing has earned him accolades from many of the greatest names in the music business, including Tony Bennett, who happened to catch one of Steve’s late night shows at the Rainbow Room. Leeds presents a tribute to Tony Bennett, “Rags to Riches,” at Arts Garage for one night only.
Leeds singing career began as a kid on ABC TV’s “The Children’s Hour,” and later on “Star Time,” a popular NBC variety show. Re-discovered at age 23 by Cy Coleman, he’s since toured widely and appeared throughout the country with a variety of established big bands. In Delray Beach he’ll perform classic renditions of Tony Bennett’s greatest hits, supported by south Florida’s Gary Lawrence quartet.
