Witness the excitement of musical competition as young trumpeters from around the globe vie for a $5000 first prize and career-changing status. Lynn Conservatory’s critically acclaimed Philharmonia will accompany the lucky semi-finalists as a slate of esteemed judges evaluates back-to-back concerto performances. Expect great music followed by the awards ceremony and a lively reception.
The Roger Voisin Memorial Trumpet Competition was established by Lynn Conservatory’s Assistant Dean, acclaimed trumpeter Marc Reese (pictured), in honor of his own teacher and mentor, famed Boston Symphony Orchestra trumpeter Roger Voisin, and is made possible by a generous donation from Douglass and Susan Kay, with support from the Voisin Family Trust. The final round will feature trumpeters currently enrolled as full-time college students with an age limit of 27.
