Some will become musical theater superstars–and Richard H. Blake has done just that. He’s delivered starring performances in no fewer than fifteen Broadway hits, including “A Bronx Tale: The Musical,” “Matilda, The Musical,” “Legally Blonde,” “The Wedding Singer,” “Jersey Boys,” “Wicked,” “Hairspray,” “Aida,” “Saturday Night Fever,” “Rent,” “Prince of Central Park,” “MacBeth,” and “Teddy and Alice.”
“Thinking Back” is Blake’s chance to share a few stories from his powerhouse career, from his origins as a child actor in Prince of Central Park, produced by Jan McArt (who is, incidentally, producing his appearance at Lynn University also)—to seasoned veteran of the Great White Way. He’s treaded the boards with the many of the world’s finest actors, singers and dancers, performed magical music, and will share it all during this nostalgic peek into the life of this compelling performer.
Cabaret Night, November 3, 9 p.m. ($20, ticketed separately), features an opening night cabaret reception starring legendary singer/pianist Michael Laird. Jan McArt and an elite group of First Nighters meet in the Wold’s Lynn Salon immediately following the Saturday night performance to hobnob with the cast and take photos with the stars.
