Regarding George Ohr: Contemporary Ceramics in the Spirit of the Mad Potter

Opening on November 7, 2017, and continuing through April 8, 2018, this exciting exhibit brings together 24 unique major works of George Ohr, the Mad Potter of Biloxi. Many of these works have not previously been exhibited.

You’ll also find objects by contemporary artists working in a similarly avant-garde vein who continue to define the medium’s cutting edge.

Boca Raton Museum of Art is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m; Saturday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. Admission is $12, $10 for seniors (65 and older), free to students with ID and children (12 and under, accompanied by an adult).

Collectors and ceramics specialists might enjoy a special event on November 10, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., when guest curator, Garth Clark–a renowned ceramics expert–shares his knowledge and experience in the field of contemporary ceramics at a lecture and lunch, followed by a docent-led tour of the exhibition.
