The Society of the Four Arts presents a fascinating documentary about a little known, but inspiring group of Yale college students from wealthy families who formed a private air militia to learn to fly in preparation for WWI. They were the first to fly for America in that war, some of them making the ultimate sacrifice. This remarkable unit became the founding squadron of the United States Naval Air Reserve. The film and Q&A provide historical background for a nearby related event, the exhibition “Knights of the Air” at the Flagler Museum. Both the film and the exhibition commemorate the centennial of the Great War/WWI.
Producer Harry Davison will host an audience Q & A afterward.
