Thursdays, 3-5 p.m.
June 21 – August 2
For children ages 4 to 5 with an accompanying adult
This workshop series is an art-based parent training class. Parents attend weeks 1, 3, 5 & 7 alone, so that they can learn techniques for “playing” with their child. That knowledge is then applied on weeks 2, 4 & 6 when parents are accompanied by their child.
The early learning skills introduced and/or exercised include: social skills via games and building materials; language skills via vocabulary of shape names and color terms; visual discrimination between two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional shapes; fine motor development with dough and tool manipulation; shape tracing, coloring, and book making; and emergent concepts of print.
*Enrollment for this 7-week class is limited to 20 total participants (10 parents and 10 students).
**Classes are free to attend, but advance registration is required.
Reserved spots will be forfeited five minutes after class begins.
