Keren Schwindt is an emerging, self-taught South Florida artist who was so inspired by the beauty of her surroundings that she had to paint. She has spent most of her professional career working in medicine, while simultaneously pursuing the arts. After spending some time touring abroad and studying the works of great artists at the Louvre and Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Prado Museum in Spain, and even in Iceland, Keren developed a contemporary style all her own. Her work marries a touch of whimsy to surrealism, impressionism, and cubism in abstraction. Raised in both Hispanic and Asian cultures, Keren often sees touches of those influences in her work as well. By applying abstraction, Keren creates intense personal moments created by rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer to new and heightened experiences of the everyday.
