Exclusive Luncheon with Gil Walsh and Steven Stolman

Art as the Informer: Fine Art and Interior Design

A conversation between Gil Walsh, one of Palm Beach’s leading interior designers, and author and designer Steven Stolman. Two of our Palm Beach County’s leading tastemakers will share their knowledge of integrating fine art into the home.

Gil Walsh, known for her masterful use of color and deep knowledge of classical design, has been working as in interior designer for over 40 years, most notably overseeing the interior design department of one of Pittsburgh’s largest architectural firms. Her company, Gil Walsh Interiors, employs over a dozen people and maintains full-time offices in West Palm Beach and Martha’s Vineyard. A perennial favorite of Houzz and Dering Hall and an alum of the revered Kips Bay Decorator Show House, she has now added “author” to her impressive dossier—“Gil Walsh Interiors: A Case for Color,” a lush designer’s monograph, was published in 2016.

Designer, author and observer of all things stylish, Steven Stolman has called Palm Beach County home since 1995, when he opened his eponymous resort wear shop on Worth Avenue. His unique designs, cut from fabrics traditionally used for home décor, caught the eye of collectors from around the world. In 2011, he was named the president of Scalamandre, a renowned textiles house. While there, he took the brand to new heights through licensed collections of china, silver and crystal, luxury bedding and lighting. He also authored his first book, “Scalamandre: Haute Décor,” in addition to three others.
