This performance by vocalist Meri Ziev will be a New York-style cabaret directed by Tony Award-winner Faith Prince, with Musical Director, Bistro and MAC Award-winner Bobby Peaco, and additional arrangements by Chris Denny and Phil Hinton. We can’t fly to many places during the pandemic, but you can soar with Meri through her own history of communication, with songs ranging from “Besame Mucho” (Consuelo Velazquez) to “We Belong” (Pat Benetar)! Meri invites you to “Fly Me to the Moon,” or at least virtually into your living room!
This performance will be staged at the Council and streamed LIVE on palmbeachculture.com. The show runs from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. with a 10-minute intermission. Don’t miss it!
While these virtual performances are free to view, donations are encouraged to help the Council provide support and services to creative professionals in Palm Beach County. Donations/tips can also be made directly to the artist during the show.
About the Performer:
Meri Ziev taught herself to sing by listening to 8-tracks by Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand in the back seat of her daddy’s Buick Riviera. Since then, Ziev has garnered awards for Outstanding Musical Theatre Performances and sung in all mediums, including radio and TV, for a variety of events including a gala honoring the late Burt Reynolds. She has studied the art of song performance for many years through master classes and participation in the St. Louis Cabaret Conference with such luminaries as Marilyn Maye, Faith Prince, Jeff Harnar and Sally Mayes, and Ann Hampton Callaway, with music direction & accompaniment by Billy Stritch, Tedd Firth, Alex Rybeck, Jeff Hellmer and Michael Orland.
