Family Saturdays: Collage Art Plate, A Functional Family Keepsake

A family is all about unity and building a strong community. A plate represents how we share our food at the family table, where we gather to eat, laugh, and create memorable family moments in time. The continuous circle of the plate and a table are symbolic of how we share our friendships, history, values, and family life stories.

Make family time even more precious by joining local mixed media fiber artist Gillian Kennedy Wright as she shows you how to make your own Functional Family Keepsake Collage Art Plate. Bring a photocopy of special family photos, postcards, treasured recipes, small items such as fabric, beads, yarn, messages, tiny fabric toys, along with any other special items that can be used to beautify your new family heirloom.

This programming will take place in our outdoor Project Space, immediately behind the Cultural Council building on L Street. Please bring your own towels or mats. Facial coverings and social distancing are also required at all times when visiting the Cultural Council building and Project Space.

The 2021-2022 season of Family Saturdays is presented by The Palm Beach Post.
