Participants will have the opportunity to play drums and other percussion instruments from many diverse cultures. They will play traditional rhythms and make up their own music. This is an exciting celebration of life for all ages and abilities.

About Teaching Artist Buckley Griffis:
Buckley Griffis’ artistry has always been an exploration of what it truly means to be human. He has absorbed and experienced many diverse arts and cultures through years of extensive world travel. He worked for years in two orphanages in Bolivia, teaching expressive arts, including world percussion to Bolivian children. In Argentina, he ran the creative arts program at Estancia Ranquilco.

Buckley is the founder and program director of Rhythm Weavers, a community based world percussion program. Rhythm Weavers has provided programs for school, churches, hospitals, juvenile detention centers, arts festivals, and students with a wide range of special needs. He is also the cofounder and artistic coordinator of Arts for Everyone. Buckley taught instrumental music at the Palm Beach Day Academy for ten years and has written the world percussion module for Prime Time of Palm Beach County. He has been a Teaching Artist with the Center for Creative Education since 2009
