“I’m always making a comeback but nobody ever tells me where I’ve been.” – Billie Holiday
For this special Evenings at the Council event, take a trip back to the 1930s with the one and only Yvette Norwood-Tiger and her jazz ensemble. The group will perform works by the late, great Billie Holiday in addition to a few holiday standards.
This will be Norwood-Tigerās third performance at the Cultural Council and her first after the sold-out show celebrating another legend, Ella Fitzgerald. Her ensemble comprises Ken Burkhart on the keys, drummer Karl Ott, Burt Boice on contrabass, trumpeter Michael Mackey and special guest, Jerry Helta, on guitar. Refreshments will be provided gratis.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Space is limited, so reserve your tickets now online or call (561) 472‑3338 to pay by phone.
