Jean Shepherd’s “A Christmas Story,” a comedic memoir about growing up in 1940s in a mid-western small town, portrays nine-year-old Ralphie Parker, who imagines finding a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the Christmas tree. Having begged his mother, teacher and Santa Claus at the downtown Higbee’s Department Store, he is continually told: “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Phillip Grecian’s stage adaptation transforms this familiar and beloved story into a lively local theatre experience at Lake Worth’s iconic and historic playhouse. Expect relaxing, off-Broadway entertainment from this delightful holiday mood setter!
