Nasty Women: A “Herstory” of Civil Disobedience: A Celebration of Women’s History Month

March 18 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

$30 – $35

From ancient and even Biblical times, women have stood up to those in power, dissenting both physically and verbally. This program will explore women who refused to follow the rules and, by their actions, changed history. We will start with the Book of Exodus and the midwives who defied Pharaoh, perhaps the first recorded act of civil disobedience, continue with Antigone of Thebes, then journey through the centuries, culminating with Nazi-defying Sophie Scholl and segregation defying Claudette Colvin, the original Rosa Parks. This event is also available virtually.
