BARCLAY Performing Arts is proud to present the second show of its Summer 2023 Academy Season – JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH the Musical… with LIVE Music accompanying our cast of over 30 students, ages 6-18! This full-length magical musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s JAMES with feature a 4 piece live band (including 2 pianists) that will play alongside our Advanced Level Show Program students… making it one of the only theatres in South Florida with to support its student performers with Live musicians! You will not want to miss it. Join us for this magical summer, family experience that begins when James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree. He discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach… and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Suddenly, James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James’ quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building… Don’t miss this rarely produced gem that is packed with magic, music, and adventure.
