Central American Modernism

Central American art is Latin American art at its greatest – worldly and sophisticated and yet also profoundly native. The exhibition will showcase works of Central American masters with distinct qualities that make each of them uniquely valuable. All works are courtesy of the private collection of Mark Ford, many of which have never been shown in public. Mark Ford and Suzanne Brooks authored the book Central American Modernism, a comprehensive introduction to Central American art – a bilingual beau-livre that not only tells the story of how Modernism came to each country, but demonstrates the magnitude of the talent that Central America contributed to Modernism.
