MOSAIC (Month of Shows, Art, Ideas and Culture) rings in its sixth year of family fun in 2023! The one and only monthlong celebration of arts and culture in The Palm Beaches features more than 20 cultural offers for you to enjoy throughout the month of May.

Below, you can explore my family’s journey to five separate MOSAIC locations and hopefully be inspired to make a trip of your own.

Armory Art Center

Tucked neatly into the beautiful Flamingo Park neighborhood of West Palm Beach, the Armory Art Center is a great place for the whole family to get involved in the arts. Every term, there are over 160 courses to choose from including drawing, painting, photography, jewelry, fiber & textiles, ceramics, and sculpture. There is something for every age group, starting as young as preschool, and my kids in particular love getting their hands dirty with some clay in the ceramics studio. Personally, I can’t wait to take a class in rock carving. In addition to the classes, the Armory hosts up to twelve world class art exhibitions annually and many lectures and special events throughout the season.

Enjoy your trip to the Armory throughout MOSAIC (May 1–31) and get 20% off pop-up workshops on select dates during Session 5.

Boca Raton Museum of Art

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is a world-class art museum in the heart of southern Palm Beach County. The caliber of the exhibits and artists is of the highest quality and very international in scope. You could spend the whole afternoon exploring the museum, including two floors of modern art, a sculpture garden, and one-of-a-kind gift shop. As a photographer, I loved getting to see pieces by some of my favorite artists like Gregory Crewdson.

Visit the museum during MOSAIC (May 1–31) and enjoy BOGO general admission. What a deal!

Loggerhead Marinelife Center

For a family that loves everything to do with the beach, Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a great spot to spend the afternoon learning how to keep our coasts healthy and safe. Located a stone’s throw from the ocean in Juno Beach, the nonprofit education and ocean conservation facility houses a variety of exhibits, live sea turtles, and other coastal creatures. Exhibits include a massive prehistoric Archelon sea turtle replica, saltwater aquaria and displays of local wildlife, as well as educational displays about South Florida’s marine environment. The boys loved visiting the sea turtle hospital and learning the best ways to keep ocean free of debris. Of course, their favorite part was the gift store.

Speaking of the gift store, you can save 10% on purchases during MOSAIC and get BOGO half-off tickets to the center’s Early Access Tours.

Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum

Until my family discovered this exciting museum, we had no idea Boca Raton had such a rich history. Home to the Boca Raton Historical Society, the Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum takes historic preservation and education to new levels. The interactive exhibits kept the kids entertained while my wife and I soaked up all the information on the city’s ever-evolving landscape. It’s amazing to me how much Florida had changed in such a short amount of time.

Throughout the month of May, MOSAIC visitors save $2 on admission to the museum.

The Society of the Four Arts

The Society of the Four Arts has something for everybody. The sculpture and botanical gardens are a secret oasis in the middle of Palm Beach and one of my favorite spots to take pictures. The children’s library is a great place to bring the kids to find new books and participate in fun educational programs and events. The cultural programming is beyond compare, with concerts, films, art exhibits and notable speakers (including a talk by me which occurred earlier this season).

The Four Arts is offering 50% off admission to their stunning 2022 Benjamin Mkapa African Wildlife Awards exhibition to MOSAIC visitors throughout May.
