Deadline for submissions: April 8th, 2023

In partnership with Deon C. Jefferson, BeWell PBC, and Arts Warehouse, this open call is for an exhibition to be held as part of the 2nd Art Ball – A celebration of fashion, art, and music in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month (May).

The goal of the exhibition is to allow for expression and interpretations of the varying topics that are involved in mental health whether literal or abstract in representation.

While the theme of the work must be inspired by, or highlighting, mental and behavioral health, this year’s sub-theme is SUPER – power, -hero, -visor, -ficial, -star, califragilisticexpialidocious, etc – whatever it means to you.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE THEME CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING WORK. Work that is not related to the theme will not be considered for Super.

ART REQUIREMENTS:

1. All work submitted must be original and of property of the artist.
2. Any media and any size will be considered
3. All work must have been completed within the last 1 – 3 years. Artists are encouraged to make new work for the call.
4. Works previously accepted into any Arts Warehouse programs/shows are ineligible.
5. Please note that not all works that are submitted to this call for art will be accepted, and that a committee will be reviewing the submissions and making curatorial selections. Artists will be notified whether their work is accepted or not.
