Summer Jazz Series - May - August

What better way to celebrate the end of a long summer Saturday than to take a seat, sip a cold drink and enjoy an evening of jazz music?

The beat goes on as the Cultural Council hosts its Summer Music Series in collaboration with Palm Beach International Jazz Festival, punctuated with performances featuring local musicians.

Tickets are $20 for each show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., performances begin at 7 p.m. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

Jill Switzer is one of the most sought-after vocalists in Palm Beach County and Rich Switzer is a gifted multi-instrumentalist/composer who has entertained audiences in South Florida for the past 32 years. Together, they co-host “The Morning Lounge with Jill and Rich” on Legends 100.3 FM WLML, and are both honorary board members of The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook.

Avery Sommers is a South Florida treasure and Broadway veteran with a “powerhouse” voice (The New York Times) and charismatic stage presence. The evening begins with “Getting to Know Avery” – a conversation between Avery and Yvette Norwood-Tiger about her career in music and on Broadway, accompanied by some music and questions from the audience. Then after a short intermission, the night continues with a performance by Avery and her full band.

Yvette Norwood-Tiger is a vocalist, songwriter, vocal coach, recording artist and a voting member of The Recording Academy (GRAMMY). Yvette is a native of Detroit, Michigan, and hails from a family of musicians, including a father who played guitar and a mother who played drums. She is the founder and director of the Palm Beach International Jazz Festival.
