Cultural Council of Palm Beach County

The JCC of the Palm Beaches will welcome via live telecast at its Boynton Beach, Fla., location four impressive speakers in 2012 as part of the NYC-based 92nd Street Y lectures and conversations series.

Taught by expert instructors and inspired by curriculum from Palm Beach State College’s Physical Science courses, students will have the tools they need become young scientists themselves and explore their world.

In the early 20th century, Japanese woodblock printmaking experienced a revival with the development of shin hanga, the “modern print” movement, and sosaku hanga, the “creative print” movement. While shin hanga attempted to revive the techniques and subject matter of the centuries-old ukiyo-e tradition, which had reached its apogee in the 18th and 19th centuries, sosaku hanga reacted against it.
