The Artist-in-Residency grant offered by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council provides funding for community-based artist-in-residency programs that emphasize long-term, in-depth interaction between professional artists and an identified group of participants. The program's mission is to forge partnerships between artists and host non-profit cultural organizations to benefit residents of Palm Beach County.
The Artist-in-Residency grant is offered to an individual or a group of artists collaborating with host organizations based in Palm Beach County. Together artists and hosts determine residency venues and identify participants, with special consideration given to community needs. Artists working in one of the following disciplines are eligible to apply: Creative Writing, Dance, Media Arts, Multidisciplinary, Music Composition, Theater, Visual Arts. Programs must include hands-on experience for participants through activities such as workshops or classes culminating in original artworks and/or performances designed to have a significant impact on both community and culture.
Artist-in-Residency (Category A) grants will be awarded through a community panel review process. Whatever the amount awarded, it must be fully matched by the hosting organization, either in cash or in-kind. Up to $30,000 for a three- to nine-month residency program in Palm Beach County.
